- Choose talents that support your main attack and fix the reason it stops working. A Physical basic-attack Monk and a Sacred Judgment Lightning Monk need different damage bonuses. For Chain Force, use the 1.0.1 restoration described in the official notes, not its short-lived 1.0.0h replacement.
Spend for the attack you keep using
| Your route or problem | Priority to examine | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Physical basic attacks | Bonuses matching Physical and basic-attack damage | A bonus to a different attack category may miss your main damage source. |
| Sacred Judgment Lightning route | Lightning, relevant critical bonuses and Strong Attack support | The community Sacred Judgment build groups these together. |
| Mana runs out during repeated attacks | Sustain before another narrow damage investment | An attack that stops casting cannot exploit its full damage setup. |
| Deaths despite frequent dodges | Health and other defenses alongside dodge | Dodge-focused early characters have still reported one-shot deaths. |
Use the skill’s current tags and the inventory Details view when comparing points. Avoid treating every number in the character sheet as a bonus to every skill.
Chain Force: two notes describe different versions
The 1.0.0h note changed Chain Force to apply Vulnerable after every seven basic-attack casts. The later 1.0.1 note restored Chain Force to making every third Basic Attack deal 100% more direct damage. It separated the Vulnerable idea into Exposing Strikes.
These are successive versions, not two simultaneous effects of one talent. If an older tree or clip describes the seven-cast version as Chain Force, it needs this correction before you use it.
What a Lightning talent plan is trying to achieve
In the 3 October Sacred Judgment community guide, dsds0821 pairs Lightning investment with the skill’s stun talent, Lightning critical chance and Heavy Hands. The same author keeps Health and Dodge while progressing and describes Formless as a later dodge-to-critical-damage interaction.
Treat that as a Sacred Judgment example whose choices depend on the skill, gear and available points. Its author also warns that replacing Mana support too early can interrupt Sacred Judgment. A damage interaction has limited value while its attack is unavailable.
Check each named node in your current tree before following the author’s allocation. Its exact point counts have not been independently confirmed for the current version, and your available points, equipment and Mana needs may differ.
Read trigger wording literally
The official talent clarification says cast-count talents count your own casts, excluding repeats and minion casts, and reset on death or an area change. Do not assume a fast-looking sequence of repeated attacks advances every talent counter at the same rate.
Mirror Steps also changed in 1.0.0h: its Physical damage bonus after a dodge rose from 40% to 60%, and its duration from three to four seconds. The condition still matters when judging whether it supports the route you are actually playing.
