- Start by choosing the attack you want to keep using: Furious Fist has a clear Physical route through Hundred Hands, while players also build around Lightning attacks. Keep recovery and Mana support in the setup while you learn it. Monk gear can change what a skill does, including turning Spirit Stream from healing into damage.
Pick an attack before chasing a stat
A Monk can head in quite different directions. The Hundred Hands set rewards Furious Fist and Physical damage. A separate community build posted by dsds0821 on 3 October centers on Sacred Judgment, Lightning damage and repeated control. Those are different shopping lists; a useful item for one is not automatically useful for the other.
For an early character, choose the attack that is already working with your drops. Read its damage and attack tags before spending heavily on narrow bonuses. Keep your route flexible when you do not yet have the items that define a finished build.
Keep the attack running
The Sacred Judgment guide makes a practical point: replacing a Mana item with damage gear only helps if attacks remain sustainable. Its author used Manaflow Greaves during progression before moving to a more offensive pair.
| Problem | Useful check |
|---|---|
| Attacks keep stopping | Check Mana during the fight before adding another damage bonus. |
| Groups feel fine, bosses feel starved | Check whether your recovery depends on kills. Manaflow Greaves trigger on a kill. |
| Dodge is high but deaths continue | Check the hits that get through and your other defenses. A dodge-focused level-28 player reported this problem in an early discussion. |
| A familiar skill stops healing | Read the equipped item’s replacement effect, especially Vessel of the Endless Stream. |
Read the effect, not just the stat roll
The Black Mist listing for Vessel of the Endless Stream explicitly removes Spirit Stream’s healing and replaces it with nearby Lightning pulses. Treat that as a change of role. Do not keep relying on the skill as your recovery button after equipping it.
Hundred Hands changes Furious Fist at six pieces by adding free Golden Palms triggers. Patch 1.0.2 also changed Golden Palms itself into a traveling projectile and revised the set interaction. Older clips can show a different attack shape.
Before pushing the next area
- Watch whether the main attack stays active through a longer fight.
- Check both crowd clearing and a target without a steady supply of kills.
- Keep enough recovery to survive missed dodges instead of treating dodge as guaranteed protection.
- Re-read the skill and item text after equipping anything that replaces, converts or triggers an ability.
