- Version 1.0.2 reduced Mythic Rift entry to 3 Skull of Inferno. Older instructions requiring three different boss materials are superseded.
- The same patch raised the tier EXP bonus to +3% per tier and increased loot and Soul Shard rewards. Pick a tier you can finish reliably.
Where is the Mythic Rift entrance?
An October 3 community reply directs players to the statue at the far right of the City of Veldak. An October 8 discussion identifies the Brave Memorial as the endgame Rift portal. Use those as navigation clues, not a complete unlock-cost or prerequisite table.
If the service is unavailable, inspect the requirement shown on your own town interaction. The full unlock requirements remain unconfirmed, so do not assume another player’s route will open it for your character.

Entry costs changed twice in October
| Patch | Announced rule |
|---|---|
| 1.0.1, October 5 | Entry reduced from 3 boss materials to 2 boss materials plus 1 skull. |
| 1.0.2, October 8 | Entry reduced again, to 3 Skull of Inferno. |
| 1.0.2, October 8 | Tier EXP bonus increased from +1.5% to +3% per tier. |
| 1.0.2, October 8 | More loot at all tiers; Soul Shard rewards increased and now scale with tier. |
The October 2 complaint about repeatedly farming three bosses describes the older material requirement. It should not send you on the same collection route after installing 1.0.2.
What makes a Rift run worth the entry?
Version 1.0.1 names Rift bosses as a source of Gold Bars and Consecration Stones. Gold Bars have a fixed merchant value, while Consecration Stones are used for equipment Enlightenment. Those reward categories give you reasons to run Rifts beyond an experience number.
No exact reward-per-tier table or guaranteed rare-item payout is established here. Include failed attempts and material collection in the cost of a farming session. Soul Shards now scale with tier, but a tier your build cannot reliably clear is a poor repeat farm.
Set the build before you enter
The 1.0.2 combat rules prevent ability and talent changes during leaderboard-tracked combat maps. Prepare the intended setup before a tracked run instead of relying on a mid-fight respec. In ordinary combat, equipping another ability now starts that ability on its full effective cooldown.
The preceding patch also introduced boss enrage after 15 minutes from Rift tier 75. This is a versioned rule, not a claim that every run has the same comfortable damage threshold. At those tiers, surviving indefinitely does not remove the need to finish the fight.
- Check the entry material displayed by your installed version.
- Choose the companion, consumables and ability setup before entering.
- Start with a tier you can complete cleanly and use it as your farming baseline.
- Raise the tier when the extra reward is worth the longer clear and failure risk.
