- Paragon experience has received an official fix, but later players still reported levels or points rolling back. A patch note alone does not prove every rollback case is resolved.
- Check your installed version and record the exact before-and-after level, EXP and trigger. Do not repeatedly reset points to try to force progress.
What is documented about Paragon EXP?
The September 30 version 1.0.0h notes fixed incorrectly low experience at some Paragon levels. That correction matters when comparing older leveling reports with your current progress. It does not specify every level’s EXP requirement or how to allocate your points.
| Record | What it establishes | What it does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Official 1.0.0h patch | A fix for incorrectly low Paragon experience | That every later rollback symptom has the same cause. |
| October 2 player reports | Levels appeared to fall after transitions or logging back in | A reproducible current cause or guaranteed repair. |
| October 4–5 discussion | A player disputed that updating alone resolved their case | That updating is useless or that the bug affects every player. |
If your Paragon level appears to go backward
One October 2 player described falling from Paragon 3 to 1 after logging back in. Other posts describe changes when entering a map or allocating points. These are reports of symptoms, not a verified penalty system that deliberately removes levels.
Record the starting state
Save the visible Paragon level, EXP bar and unspent or allocated points before changing areas.
Note the trigger
Distinguish a map transition, reconnect, restart, death and point allocation. The reports describe different events.
Confirm the installed version
Allow Steam to finish any available update, then check again without repeatedly resetting or reallocating.
Report a reproducible sequence
Include the version, character mode, screenshots and the shortest sequence that reproduces the change. Keep existing saves intact.
An October 4 reply recommends updating, but the original poster returned the next day saying the game was already current. Treat an update as an initial check, not a promised one-click fix.
Choosing an EXP farm while the display is stable
A separate player post recommends Ashen Crown for Paragon EXP, but it supplies no controlled route comparison. It is a candidate to compare if available to you, not an established fastest farm for every class and patch.
If the display is stable, use a repeatable route as your EXP baseline. Compare gains across equal time windows with the same build and consumables, and keep rollback sessions separate from ordinary efficiency measurements. Otherwise a display or persistence problem can masquerade as a poor farming route.
Check the current options before committing points
The current Paragon cap, complete node map and point-reset costs remain unconfirmed. Check your available nodes and any reset confirmation before committing to an allocation. Do not assume an older build’s point order still matches your character’s options.
