- Rapid Fire has received both skill and Deadeye’s Resolve changes. A pre-update complaint is not a reliable description of the updated six-piece setup.
- The Grand rune raises the ability’s level; it is a different item from the Deadeye’s Resolve set and does not prove that you have its six-piece bonus.
Which version of Rapid Fire are you reading about?
| Patch | Change | What it does not prove |
|---|---|---|
| 1.0.0h — September 30 | Rapid Fire damage per hit increased from 25% to 35% weapon damage, with scaling also increased. | A complete modern damage formula at every ability level. |
| 1.0.1 — October 5 | The Deadeye’s Resolve six-piece entry fixes reduced arrow damage and says Rapid Fire shoots 30% faster. | That an old complaint was retested after the fix. |
| 1.0.2 — October 8 | The Deadeye’s Resolve six-piece entry adds doubled Rapid Fire projectile damage. | That the bonus applies without the set requirement. |
Keep the skill rune and set bonus separate
Rapid Fire Rune Grand lists Rapid Fire Ability level +4 and a movement-speed bonus at its displayed rank. It improves the skill’s level; it is not a Deadeye’s Resolve set piece, and owning it alone does not activate the six-piece bonus.
Before comparing results with someone else’s setup, identify which version you are actually using: Rapid Fire by itself, Rapid Fire with a skill-level rune, or Rapid Fire with the relevant set bonus. Otherwise a large difference in damage can come from a missing condition rather than from a few misplaced talent points.
Pay attention to what the channel delays
On October 2 and October 4, the same Hunter player reported that Rapid Fire’s channel prevented other actions and left the character vulnerable when a boss approached. Treat this as one dated player’s account, repeated across two threads—not two independent tests or a verified account of current cancellation rules.
When evaluating your own setup, watch the dangerous part of the fight rather than only the damage total: does the Hunter finish the channel before it needs another ability, and does a closing boss interrupt the range advantage your talents depend on? A build that clears distant enemies quickly may still fail that check.
What to settle before committing your resources
- Read the currently equipped set count and effect; do not substitute the Grand rune description for the six-piece bonus.
- Separate a damage problem from an action-timing or survival problem. More ability levels do not by themselves prove that the latter is fixed.
- Use the October patch descriptions when reviewing an older recommendation, and keep its equipment assumptions attached to it.
A complete best-in-slot Rapid Fire loadout and exact talent order are still unconfirmed. Use the documented rune and set requirements above to check which version of the skill your equipment supports.
