- Town progression unlocks NPCs and services. Spend toward a service that solves your current problem instead of following an unverified universal purchase order.
- Current patch notes establish Alchemist rune transmutation and several endgame upgrades; community posts provide narrower clues for Zahir’s wheel and the Rift entrance.
What town upgrades are for
Spend resources to develop the town and unlock NPCs and services as you progress. There is no confirmed universal buying order or complete price-and-prerequisite list, so start with the service your character needs next and check its displayed requirements.
Before spending, ask what the next service lets you do right now. An equipment service matters when you have a worthwhile item to improve. A late-game portal is less urgent when you cannot yet complete the content it opens.
Town services and what they do
| Service or activity | What is documented | What to check before spending |
|---|---|---|
| Alchemist rune transmutation | Recipe announced in 1.0.2; enabled at Alchemists in 1.0.2a. Combines 9 same-rarity runes into 1 random result | The recipe’s result pool and whether you can spare the ingredients. |
| Equipment upgrading | 1.0.1 changes the boss-material cost for Rare-to-Divine equipment at +9/+10 and increases gold cost | The actual displayed recipe for the item you intend to keep. |
| Equipment Enlightenment | 1.0.1 allows +10 items to be Enlightened twice using Consecration Stone | Whether the item is a long-term choice before investing scarce materials. |
| Zahir’s Luck Wheel | 1.0.2 doubles both spin cost and output | The new displayed cost, not an old guide’s amount. |
| Brave Memorial / Rift entrance | A community reply identifies it as the endgame Rift portal | Its current town requirement and the separate Rift entry materials. |

Zahir’s unlock material: a community clue
An October 4 Tazan town question asks about the material needed to unlock Zahir’s Luck Wheel. Replies direct the player to the boss at Tazan Wastes 7 and describe a venom-related boss material. This is a reported route to investigate, not a verified English item-name and cost table.
Match the icon and description in the service’s requirement to the material shown in your game. Do not substitute a similarly named resource simply because it also comes from a boss.
A practical order for your own character
Name the blocked action
Examples include improving a weapon, handling unwanted equipment or accessing a specific endgame activity.
Check the service requirement
Read the current resource and progression conditions; a town option and the activity’s entry fee may be separate.
Keep enough resources for the actual use
Unlocking a service is less useful if it leaves you unable to pay the recipe or attempt you wanted.
Reassess after the unlock
Inspect the new options before spending on the next service. Only move on when you know what it adds.
Your next useful service depends on the problem you are trying to solve. Check its displayed price and access requirements before spending; a fixed unlock sequence for every character has not been confirmed.
Do not restart over a full inventory
If a full inventory prevents you from collecting items on the ground, check whether you can sell unwanted equipment to the general vendor. That is one workaround suggested in the September 30 town discussion; the Blacksmith is not the only item-handling option mentioned there.
Check available selling and storage controls before taking an irreversible step. Make room carefully and preserve useful equipment; deleting a character is not a sensible first response to a full-cart message.
