Quick answer
  • Official minimum: 4 GB RAM on Windows 10 64 bit.
  • Official recommendation: 16 GB RAM; required storage is a separate 5 GB minimum or 10 GB recommended.
  • A September patch reduced RAM consumption, but it does not establish a fixed current usage figure.

The processor labels on the store do not specify a generation or exact model. These requirements also do not give a frame-rate target. Avoid turning them into a claim that every Core i3 system will deliver the same experience.

Does Deskrawl itself use 4 GB or 16 GB?

No fixed process-memory figure follows from those requirements. They describe the RAM in the PC, not a constant amount allocated to Deskrawl. Your operating system and other applications share that memory, which matters for a game you may leave running beside a browser or another program.

Storage is separate: the 5 GB and 10 GB entries refer to available disk space. More free disk space does not substitute for meeting the listed RAM requirement.

What the memory-use reports actually show

A September 30 thread illustrates how much a reading can depend on the session. Its original poster reported 650 MB before an update and 2,100 MB afterward. Reinstalling reportedly lowered usage to 1,200 MB, but it then reached 2,500 MB after the player entered a map and idled. Another participant still reported 1,800 MB after reinstalling.

Those figures are individual observations with incomplete hardware and test details. They show why a single startup reading can be misleading, but they are not a reliable forecast for your machine. The thread also does not establish reinstalling as a dependable fix.

The official September 29 patch 1.0.0g announced a reduction of about 130 MB in RAM consumption and said further improvements were planned. That is a dated patch claim, not confirmation that every memory-growth problem is fixed in the current build.

If memory use keeps climbing

  • Compare readings under similar conditions: the same game version, area, running time and background applications.
  • Record both the initial reading and a later reading after idling; include how long the game was running.
  • Note whether the change accompanies stuttering or problems in other apps, rather than relying on one number alone.
  • When reporting the issue, include total installed RAM, operating system, game version and the repeatable steps that increase usage.

Meeting the official requirement is the starting point. For a game you keep beside other apps, check how the whole PC behaves during your normal workload; the available reports do not establish a universal memory cap or a dependable one-setting fix.
